Why a Charity Project?
EL.net decided early that on a charity would be an excellent project for us to sink our teeth into … we all knew exactly how generous the Harry Potter fandom could be, and the site is a great way to support a good cause. We contacted our representative at Warner Bros. (the studio that makes the Potter films) to ask if there was a specific charity Evanna would like us to support - as this is, after all, an Evanna site ;).
The studio responded, saying this, "Evanna does not have any preferred charity, but supports all projects that have to do with animals because she is an animal lover and vegetarian". This was a great piece of information about Evanna, but left us with some decisions to make!
We looked at various possibilities, but finally decided on adopting an animal – sending out regular payments and any additional donations to an organization, to benefit a specific animal in need of urgent help. Evanna can then receive the care package to update her on any of his progress, we can update visitors of this site as to what is going on, and an animal in need is directly helped and supported by this site. Evanna can even visit Rhadlon in Essex any time she wants! The perfect set-up.
