Chris Rankin (Percy Weasley)

In a conversation with the Leaky Cauldron, Chris said: "I've met Evanna Lynch at the read through, and I can confirm that she's brilliant. She IS Luna Lovegood." Chris later went on to say that Evanna was "just absolutely perfect" for the role, joking that this was so because "I thought she was completely insane when I first met her." "I've met Evanna once and that was at the read through, which must have been the end of January. She was great, bless her, for the first day of meeting all…I remember what it was like on my first day going in there and meeting all these new people most of whom were ridiculously famous – she handled it really really really well. From what I've seen she's going to be brilliant, absolutely brilliant as Luna."

EL.net managed to have a short interview with Chris thanks to TLC. He spoke about what she was wearing the day of the read through: "She came almost dressed as Luna, I'd say. Well, put it this way I saw her in the same way, I've said this before, when I went to the read through for the first film JK Rowling came over to me and said 'you must be Percy'. It was kinda the same for all of us when we all saw her, we went 'she's Luna' because it was blindingly obvious. She was wearing Luna-esce kind of very cool but not quite what everybody would wear kind of clothes. Just things that I kind of went yeah that's cool, I've never seen anybody else wearing that combination of clothes, but it works, in an odd kind of a very cool kind of a way."

He also commented on if she was shy at the read through: "She was as quiet as a mouse, but I think I would have been as well. Anybody who's 14 walking into a room full of people who you've seen on a big screen and everything else, I think you'd be quite quiet as well, I know I was and I was 17 so, it's a scary business."

Fiona Weir (Casting Director)

Vanessa Davis, publicist for the Harry Potter film, said that the casting director Fiona Weir was taken with Evanna straightaway. "According to Fiona she made an instant impression. "She said that there was one girl who just shone and that was Evanna."

On JK Rowling's official site in her diary she commented about meeting Evanna for the first time: "Also met, and had a long chat, with Evanna Lynch (Luna), about whom there is only one possible thing to say: perfect."

In a radio interview Evanna's mother spoke about how much Evanna loves the books: "She's a fanatic. You know, obsessed with the books ever since she discovered them... she has read each of them at least six or seven times, and I think that was stood for her when she went and queued up with the 15,000, because probably nobody who queued knew them quite as well as she did. And when she was taken into a room and asked to learn a script very quickly, it was no problem, she probably knew it already!"

[On if Luna is anything like Evanna] "Exactly like Evanna... she IS Luna Lovegood, that's the thing, yeah. She's very quirky in every sense and yeah, that's Luna."

"I must tell you something funny about Termonfeckin. When Evanna was younger, and, you know, obsessed with these books, she used to keep writing to JK Rowling and she actually got an answer after a while. And in her letter she had said to JK Rowling how much she loved the books and how much she would love to act in a Harry Potter movie, but she had said, apparently, that she lived in this sleepy little place called Termonfeckin, where nothing ever happened! And that she was, despairing, you know. And then when JK Rowling wrote back, she said, 'Dont be too hard on Termonfeckin!' She said, 'It does have a brilliant name! And I come from a very sleepy place.' And told her about it, and, you never know."

[On what life has been like since Evanna got the part] "Today at school she had two bodyguards going around with her everywhere, and the gates were locked and televisions were looking in and she was being kept well under wraps."
